Ever wondered what these are? (Yes, there’s an emoji version of these)
It’s called the EVIL EYE / NAZAR.

The evil eye is believed to cast bad luck on people who wish you ill.
It’s called Nazarlik (Nazar Amulets) in Turkey (from Nazar - Evil Eye) and is found in several ornaments or accessories like a house charm, bracelet, or even necklaces.

The closest resemblance to our culture is to ward off “usog” — which like the Evil Eye is believed to be caused by bad energy brought by envy and jealousy which can cause the one they envy ill, bad luck, pain, etc.

What’s interesting about this is it is said that when people wish you ill or are jealous of you, your evil eye will break or shatter because it diverted the bad intention to itself rather than to you. 😳

In some instances, it’s even encouraged to say “Inshallah” (God Willing) everytime you praise someone otherwise, it may not be considered sincere. That’s why you’ll see the Hamsa Hands merged with Evil Eye

Diameter of Nazar: 8 inches
Total Length: 14 inches
