WHAT ARE TURKISH TOWELS?
Turkish Towels or Peshtemals are woven in Turkey (The Little Istanbul's towels are woven in the weaving capital of Turkey, Denizli) made of 100% Turkish Cotton, the most sought-after cotton in the world. It was used initially as a HAMMAM (Spa) Towel for its absorbency, but later on popularized for having the flexibility to be anything (Towel, Couch throw, travel towel, picnic mat, sarong, etc)
HOW ABSORBENT ARE TURKISH TOWELS?
With more usage and care, they will even be more absorbent and soft. Over time the long fibers of the Turkish cotton open up allowing more water to absorb into the towel.
ARE THEY SAND-FREE?
Turkish Towels are considered "SAND-FREE' towels since it doesn't have the Terry Loops where sand get trapped, it's woven flat (unless you get the loose weave design)
HOW BIG ARE TURKISH TOWELS?
The Standard size of Turkish Towels is 100 cm x 180 cm, the size of normal terry bath towel is 62 x 120 cm so it is larger and wider.
FEEL AND SHRINKAGE
A Turkish towel should not leave excess fiber (lints), scratchy feeling, on your body as you use it. It will shrink in the wash because this is just the nature of Cotton (and Wool) and you will notice more shrinkage in loose woven towels (like our Waffle). There's nothing to worry about because your towel's functionality will not be affected. Again, it's the nature of Cotton plus the towel will also get softer over time.
CAN I DRY TURKISH TOWELS?
Yes. You can tumble dry Turkish towels on low heat or hang to air dry. Don't hang directly under the sun.
WHAT SHOULD I USE AS DETERGENT?
You can use any detergent EXCEPT bleach and fabric conditioner. They tend to make the towels LESS ABSORBENT
CAN I WASH MY TOWELS WITH OTHER COLORS
We highly recommend you to NOT do this. As much as possible, wash with the same colors.
